Common questions about working together.
Q: What does Dr. Hines specialize in?
Men's coaching. The focus is on helping men break free from toxic patterns, passivity, and destructive family dynamics.
Q: Is this therapy or counseling?
No. Dr. Hines provides faith-based coaching services, not licensed professional counseling (LPC) or therapy. His credentials are through Andersonville Theological Seminary and professional coaching organizations. Services integrate biblical principles with evidence-based methods like the Gottman approach.
Q: Are services faith-based?
Yes. All coaching is rooted in Christian principles. However, clients from all backgrounds are welcome. The focus is on practical transformation, not preaching.
Q: What makes this different from traditional therapy?
Three things: intensity (we don't drag things out for years), directness (you'll hear what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear), and integration (we address mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions together).
Q: What is a marriage intensive?
A marriage intensive is 2-3 consecutive days of focused work on your relationship. Instead of weekly one-hour sessions spread over months, you get 16-24 hours of concentrated coaching. Most couples accomplish more in one intensive than in a year of traditional weekly sessions.
Q: How much does an intensive cost?
Marriage intensives start at $5,000. The final investment depends on your specific situation and needs. Everything is discussed during your free discovery call. Financing is available.
Q: Do both spouses have to participate?
Yes. Marriage intensives require both partners to be present and willing to engage. If one spouse is unwilling, individual coaching may be a better starting point.
Q: What if we're considering divorce?
Many couples who come for intensives are on the edge of divorce. The goal is clarity. Sometimes that means rebuilding the marriage. Sometimes it means gaining the understanding needed to make an informed decision about the future.
Q: What are the coaching options?
Men's Coaching: $1,800 (6 sessions). Escape Coaching: $1,800 (6 sessions). Financing available.
Q: What is the Stronghold Assessment?
A proprietary 200+ question assessment that measures personality type, emotional intelligence, attachment style, communication patterns, leadership tendencies, stress response, and relationship health. It's included with all coaching packages.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
No. All services are private-pay only. We do not bill insurance or provide superbills for reimbursement.
Q: Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. All coaching packages are available virtually via Zoom. Virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person for most clients.
Q: What's your cancellation policy?
48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less notice result in forfeiture of the session. For intensives, stricter cancellation terms apply.
Q: Is everything confidential?
Yes. All information shared in sessions is kept strictly confidential, with limited exceptions required by law (imminent harm to self or others, suspected abuse, court orders).
Q: How do I get started?
Book a discovery call. We'll discuss your situation, answer your questions, and determine if we're a good fit. No pressure, no pitch.
Q: How do I know if this is right for me?
This is for you if you're ready to do the work, can handle direct feedback, and want results rather than endless processing. This is NOT for you if you want someone to validate you without doing the work.
Ready to Talk?
Book a discovery call. No pressure, no pitch. Just an honest conversation.
