What does Dr. Hines specialize in?
Individual coaching for men and couples coaching for marriages. The work centers on male passivity, narcissistic abuse recovery, father wound, scapegoat-role recovery, and Gottman-informed marriage restoration.
Is this therapy or counseling?
No. Dr. Hines provides Christian coaching and pastoral counseling, not state-licensed clinical therapy. His credentials are a Doctor of Christian Counseling (DCC) and Doctor of Pastoral Counseling (DPC) from Andersonville Theological Seminary. He is not an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, psychologist, or psychiatrist. He does not diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, or provide crisis intervention. If clinical care is what you need, the Clarity Session will identify that and refer you appropriately.
Are services faith-based?
Yes. Dr. Hines' practice is explicitly Christian. Clients of any faith background are welcome, but the work is grounded in a Christian worldview and clients should expect that orientation throughout.
GETTING STARTED · THE CLARITY SESSION
How do I start working with Dr. Hines?
Every new client begins with a Clarity Session. You pay online, complete the Stronghold Assessment at your pace, then book your 50-minute session directly on Dr. Hines' calendar. He reviews your assessment before the session and walks you through a custom Clarity Plan in the meeting.
How much does the Clarity Session cost?
The Solo Clarity Session is $297 and includes one Stronghold Assessment, a 50-minute session with Dr. Hines, and a custom written Clarity Plan. The Couples Clarity Session is $497 and includes two Stronghold Assessments (one for each spouse), a 50-minute joint session, and a Clarity Plan for the marriage.
What is the Stronghold Assessment?
The Stronghold Assessment is Dr. Hines' proprietary diagnostic instrument. About 45 to 60 minutes total, across six domains. It produces the comprehensive coaching profile Dr. Hines uses to build your Clarity Plan and to decide which coaching track and program length fits.
What happens after the Clarity Session?
Dr. Hines hands you the Clarity Plan. The Plan names what is actually happening, why, and the specific path forward. That may be an Individual Coaching engagement built on individual coaching, a couples coaching engagement, a referral to a licensed clinician, or a recommendation to begin elsewhere first. Coaching package pricing is presented at this point — calibrated to severity and timeline, not sold from a fixed menu.
COACHING TRACKS
What is individual coaching?
Individual coaching for men is custom. The number of sessions, the cadence, and the focus are all prescribed in your Clarity Session based on what your Stronghold Assessment reveals. Weekly virtual sessions with private portal access and direct messaging between sessions.
How does couples coaching work?
Couples coaching is Gottman Method Level 1 informed. Both spouses are individually assessed via Stronghold before joint sessions begin, so Dr. Hines walks into Session 1 already knowing the real pattern underneath the conflict. Sessions are weekly and virtual. The work covers trust repair, communication restoration, contempt and defensiveness patterns, and reconnection.
SESSIONS & LOGISTICS
Are sessions in person or virtual?
Sessions are virtual and available nationwide. Dr. Hines is based in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, but his client roster spans the United States.
Do you accept insurance?
No. All services are private-pay only. This is consistent with Dr. Hines' scope of practice as a Christian coach and pastoral counselor — coaching services are not billable to mental health insurance.
What is the cancellation policy?
48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule any session. Cancellations with less notice may result in forfeiture of the session.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. All information shared in sessions is kept strictly confidential, with the limited exceptions required by law (imminent harm to self or others, suspected abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult, court orders).
